Marilyn Newhoff, dean of the College of Health and Human Services, is the new chair of the publications board for the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.  This position is a three-year term and has previously been held by faculty leaders at Purdue, University of Kansas, Ohio State and University of Washington. 

About the association

The American-Speech-Langauge-Hearing Association's mission is to:

  • Advocate on behalf of persons with communication and related disorders
  • Advance communication science
  • Promote effective human communication

About the publications board 

The publications board's responsibilities include:

  • Plan, monitor and coordinate the production of scholarly publications of the association 
  • Apply all of the policies of the association to the publications.
