High-powered athletes, entrepreneurs and business professionals will discuss the state of the industry and the future of sports in San Diego.

If you’ve ever wondered just how important the sports business is to San Diego, the San Diego State University Business Alumni Network will host a conference called The Business of Sports. The event takes place from 5:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m. Thursday, April 12 at the San Diego Hall of Champions.
Jim Laslavic, NBC 7 San Diego’s sports director, will moderate the panel of experts including:
- Al Kidd, president, Hall of Champions
- Randy Jones, former Padre all-star pitcher and Padre spokesperson/radio personality
- Jim Sterk, SDSU’s director of intercollegiate athletics
- Steve Astephen, principal of Action Sports, Wasserman Media Group
